Price data checked September 17, 2026. There is no single GLP-1 price. The amount can change dramatically depending on whether you are comparing an FDA-approved brand, a compounded prescription, a telehealth care bundle, a first-month promotion, an annual plan, or an insurance-based pathway. This page separates those categories so a low headline price is not mistaken for a directly comparable monthly cost.
How much do GLP-1 medications cost per month?
In the current U.S. market, verified GLP-1-related prices span a very wide range. In our provider research, compounded semaglutide programs can start at $88 for an introductory first month, with standard ongoing semaglutide references commonly around $150 to $297 per month. Standard monthly compounded tirzepatide references in our current dataset generally run around $240 to $399 per month. FDA-approved brand-name self-pay programs can start around $149 for Wegovy, $299 for Zepbound, $149 for certain Ozempic self-pay options, and $499 for Mounjaro through LillyDirect.
Those figures are not like-for-like prices. Some include medication, clinician care and shipping. Others are medication-only manufacturer prices. Some are introductory offers or require annual prepayment. That distinction is the most important part of comparing GLP-1 costs.
| Price category | Current reference | What the price means | Deeper guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compounded semaglutide online | About $150–$297/month for clearly published standard monthly references | Provider programs may bundle medication, clinician care, support and shipping. Lower introductory and prepaid offers exist. | Semaglutide cost |
| Compounded tirzepatide online | About $240–$399/month for clearly published standard monthly references | Lower prices may reflect annual plans, microdose pathways or special promotions. | Tirzepatide cost |
| Wegovy self-pay | From $149/month; pen promotions and dose-specific prices vary | Manufacturer self-pay program. Eligibility, dose and offer terms apply. | NovoCare pricing |
| Zepbound self-pay | $299/month starting dose; $399 for 5 mg; $449 for higher doses under qualifying refill terms | Manufacturer self-pay pricing through LillyDirect and participating pathways. | LillyDirect pricing |
| Ozempic self-pay | From $149/month depending on form and dose; some injection offers are $199 for the first two months | Manufacturer self-pay program. Ozempic is a diabetes medicine and should not be treated as interchangeable with Wegovy pricing. | NovoCare pricing |
| Mounjaro self-pay | From $499/month through LillyDirect | Manufacturer self-pay price for Mounjaro. It is a separate branded prescription from Zepbound. | LillyDirect pricing |
Online GLP-1 provider prices we have verified
The table below focuses on provider price structures rather than declaring one provider the cheapest. A lower price can reflect a different medication, dose, commitment length or service bundle.
| Provider | Current price reference | Billing / qualification | What to check | Review |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LevelsRx | Semaglutide: $88 first month verified at checkout; from $150/month listed ongoing. Tirzepatide: from $240/month. | Month-to-month program | The $88 semaglutide figure is introductory, not the listed ongoing starting price. Clinical care, nutrition support and home delivery are bundled into the program. | LevelsRx review · Provider |
| bmiMD | Semaglutide: $159 one month. Tirzepatide: $249 one month. | Monthly or prepaid multi-month plans | Lower equivalents of $119 and $179 require a 12-month prepaid commitment. | bmiMD review · Provider |
| HumeCare | $199/month on the reviewed GLP-1 program | Billed monthly | The reviewed offer says medication is included if prescribed, plus clinician care and coaching. Certain medications or formulations can carry additional charges. | HumeCare review · Provider |
| Lttl | Semaglutide references around $199–$229 monthly; tirzepatide $279 monthly | Monthly and annual options | The site has published multiple price presentations, so checkout confirmation is important. Annual equivalents are lower but require a larger commitment. | Lttl review · Provider |
| Fridays | Semaglutide: $249 month-to-month. Tirzepatide: $359 month-to-month. | Monthly and annual-plan options | Annual-plan monthly equivalents are lower. Branded-medication membership offers should not be confused with medication-inclusive compounded plans. | Fridays review · Provider |
| Maximus Tribe | Semaglutide: $249.99 ongoing one-month price. Tirzepatide: $359.99 one-month price. | One-month through 12-month plans | Longer commitments reduce the monthly equivalent to about $150 for semaglutide and $240 for tirzepatide, but early-exit flexibility is more limited. | Maximus Tribe review · Provider |

Why the cheapest GLP-1 headline can be misleading
A provider may advertise “$99 per month,” but that can mean very different things. It may be a first-month promotion, a microdose program, an annual-plan equivalent, or a price that excludes medication. We therefore separate introductory price, ongoing monthly price, and prepaid monthly equivalent.
- Introductory price: applies only to an initial month or limited number of fills.
- Month-to-month price: the amount for a normal monthly plan without a long prepaid commitment.
- Prepaid monthly equivalent: total multi-month cost divided by the number of months; this is not the same as monthly cancellation flexibility.
- Membership-only fee: may cover clinician access but exclude medication.
- Microdose price: applies to a lower-dose pathway and should not automatically be compared with a standard-dose program.
Current brand-name GLP-1 self-pay prices
Manufacturer self-pay programs are useful reference points because they separate the branded medication price from a telehealth provider’s care bundle.
| Brand | Current self-pay reference | Key qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Wegovy | Pill from $149/month. New eligible pen patients: $199/month for the first two fills; standard pen pricing then $349/month. Wegovy HD 7.2 mg: $399/month. | Dose, eligibility and offer terms apply. Novo Nordisk lists a $1,349.02 package list price, which is different from the self-pay program price. |
| Zepbound | 2.5 mg: $299/month. 5 mg: $399/month. 7.5–15 mg: $449/month when the qualifying 45-day refill condition is met. | Regular prices are higher for some doses if the Journey Program refill condition is not met. |
| Ozempic | Self-pay starts at $149/month for the 1.5 mg pill. Eligible new injection patients can pay $199/month for the first two fills; standard injection pricing then starts at $349/month, with 2 mg at $499/month. | Ozempic is a diabetes prescription. The price should not be presented as if it were a directly interchangeable weight-loss product. |
| Mounjaro | From $499/month through LillyDirect for all listed pen strengths. | Mounjaro is a diabetes prescription. Lilly also lists a $1,112.16 list price for a 28-day supply; list price and self-pay price are different measures. |
Can insurance or savings cards lower GLP-1 cost?
Yes, for some eligible patients. The actual amount depends on the drug, approved use, insurance coverage and program rules. Novo Nordisk currently says eligible commercially insured Wegovy patients may pay as little as $25 per month, subject to limits. Lilly says eligible commercially insured patients with Zepbound coverage may also pay as little as $25 per month, subject to savings-card terms and maximums. These are conditional savings figures, not universal cash prices.
Insurance coverage can also change whether a patient pays a copay, deductible, coinsurance, a manufacturer self-pay price, or the full retail amount. For that reason, we do not mix an insured $25 savings-card result into the same ranking as a $199 or $299 cash-pay program.
Compounded GLP-1 prices need a separate label
Many online-provider prices refer to compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide rather than FDA-approved Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. FDA has also tightened its GLP-1 compounding position in 2026 and reminds compounders that federal requirements apply when commercially available approved products are no longer in shortage. See the FDA’s April 2026 compounding policy update and GLP-1 compounding concerns.
Vital Review therefore does not describe a compounded product as a “generic Wegovy,” “generic Ozempic,” “generic Zepbound,” or otherwise imply that a compounded prescription is the same product as an FDA-approved brand.
What should be included in a fair GLP-1 cost comparison?
- Medication or formulation: semaglutide, tirzepatide, branded prescription, compounded prescription or microdose pathway.
- Actual billing cadence: monthly, quarterly, six-month or annual payment.
- Medication inclusion: whether the displayed fee includes the prescription or only the care membership.
- Clinical care: initial review, follow-ups, clinician messaging, coaching and lab requirements.
- Shipping: included delivery versus separate pharmacy or delivery charges.
- Dose pricing: whether the amount rises with the prescribed dose.
- Cancellation: how early a renewal must be stopped and whether prepaid time is refundable.
- Pharmacy transparency: whether the provider identifies its pharmacy or pharmacy network.
- Promotion duration: whether a low figure is only for the first month or first few fills.
Semaglutide vs tirzepatide cost
In our current online-provider dataset, semaglutide generally has the lower standard monthly starting price. Our clearly published standard monthly semaglutide references begin around $150, while standard monthly tirzepatide references begin around $240. That does not establish which medication is appropriate for an individual; it only describes the current price data we verified.

How Vital Review tracks GLP-1 prices
We compare provider pricing pages, plan tables, terms, cancellation policies, pharmacy disclosures and, where available, checkout pricing. We record the last verified date in individual provider reviews and separate introductory pricing from ongoing pricing. We also avoid converting annual prepayment into a simple “monthly price” without showing the commitment. Read our review methodology.
GLP-1 cost FAQs
What is the average cost of a GLP-1 per month?
There is no useful single average because brand-name medications, compounded programs, insurance pathways and telehealth bundles are priced differently. In our current provider dataset, standard monthly compounded semaglutide references start around $150 and standard monthly tirzepatide references around $240, while manufacturer self-pay brand pricing can range from roughly $149 to $499 or more depending on the medication and dose.
What is the cheapest GLP-1 online?
The lowest verified introductory figure in our current dataset is $88 for the first month of compounded semaglutide through LevelsRx, which we verified at checkout. Its current site lists semaglutide from $150/month after the introductory offer. Other sub-$150 headlines may require annual payment, a microdose pathway or another qualification, so we do not treat the smallest headline number as a universal “cheapest GLP-1” result.
Are GLP-1 medications cheaper with insurance?
They can be, but coverage varies significantly. Some eligible commercially insured patients can use manufacturer savings programs that reduce certain prescriptions to as little as $25 per month, while other patients may face deductibles, coinsurance, noncoverage or self-pay pricing.
Why are some online GLP-1 programs much cheaper?
The lower figure may be introductory, prepaid, dose-specific, compounded, medication-only, membership-only or tied to a microdose program. Compare the full commitment and what is actually included before treating two prices as equivalent.
